A naked maiden on a pale-colored horse, a large tree with pink blossom, a statue named "John" with his right index finger pointing to the sky and his brain fully exposed…These are the showpieces at the "From Nature to Mind: Chinese Contemporary Art Exhibition". The exhibition's opening ceremony was held at the Today Art Museum in Beijing, on September 3. Ending on September 18, the event will display contemporary art works from about 75 Chinese artists. Three sections at the exhibit, named "Spirit of the Academy", "Extension of Water and Ink" and "Contemporary Exploration", feature hundreds of paintings and statues with different styles. The event, as a Communication and Exchange Promotion Project, received funding from the 2015 Annual National Art Fund. Some 100 guests and representatives from Communication University of China, Renmin University, Beijing Film Academy and other cultural institutions attended the ceremony.
