Chinese navy fleet joins RIMPAC 2016 open day (1/7)

People visit the U.S. aircraft carrier "John Stennis" during the open day of the RIMPAC 2016 multinational naval exercises in Hawaii on July 9. Nine naval ships from seven countries, including China, U.S., Australia and India, have been showcased at the open day event. It is the second time that the Chinese Navy has taken part in RIMPAC. The fleet, PLAN TG - XI'AN, is composed of missile destroyer Xi'an, missile frigate Hengshui, supply ship Gaoyouhu, hospital ship Peace Ark, submarine rescue vessel Changdao and three helicopters, as well as a marine and a diving squad.
