The world's first 3D-printed house has been completed in Tongzhou, a district of Beijing recently. Different from the previous 3D-printed buildings, the two-story villa was totally printed by 3D printer at the scene and it is not spliced together by separated printed parts. Covering 400 square meters, the house is a reinforced concrete villa and 250 mm thick in the wall. It has two stories and each story is 3 meters high. It took a Beijing-based company 45 days to complete the printing and the process was fully-controlled by a computer. It indicates a breakthrough in the 3D printing technology in the field of architecture. (Photo/IC)
