In 2010, the craft of making clay jars was listed as an intangible cultural heritage in Anren. Jiao bo, water jars and clay pots made by Li are very popular among the locals. His annual income from selling clay jars has reached 100,000 yuan ($15,100). "You see, I make clay jars for a living, and now, clay has become something as worthy as gold," Li said with a smile, "I hope I could pass the craft of making clay jars to the young generation."
