Monk Xian'er is a popular cartoon character created by Master Xianfan to answer inward puzzles of visitors and bring them peace. The Longquan Monastery is located at the foot of the Fenghuangling (Phoenix Ridge) Mountain on the western outskirts of Beijing. First built in Liao Dynasty (907-1125), the monastery regains reputation as it embraces the Mobile Internet age. (Photo: Xinhua/Luo Xiaoguang)
