Huaxi Village, China’s richest village and located in the eastern Jiangsu Province, is home to many astonishing replicas of the world’s most iconic landmarks, such as the Arc de Triomphe, the Sydney Opera House, the US Capital Hill and China’s Great Wall. These buildings were originally built around 1995 in the former Huaming Village, now incorporated into the Huaxi Village, to let locals see the world without travelling. Now these replicas have attracted many tourists to visit the village and new knock-offs, such as Beijing’s Palace Museum, have been added. (Photo/CFP)
