The Airlander 10, which is part plane, part airship and part helicopter, is 92m long - around 15m longer than the biggest passenger jets. The aircraft is set to make its maiden flight in the northern hemisphere spring, British manufacturer Hybrid Air Vehicles says. The Airlander can take off and land vertically meaning it does not need a tarmac runway. It can also operate from open fields, deserts, ice or water, meaning it could be useful for humanitarian missions or coastguard monitoring. (Photo provided to China News Service)
