Donglin Temple is being dwarfed by new buildings in Zhengzhou city, Central China’s Henan province, July 23, 2015. With a history of more than 1,800 years, the temple is situated on a hillside 18 kilometers southwest of Zhengzhou, and looks over a lake. Many real estate developers have built villas and high-rises near the temple in recent years to take advantage of the unique location, but continuous construction noise has been disrupting the tranquility of the temple.
