Locals queue up to get a portion of a large zongzi, glutinous rice wrapped in reed leaves, at a cultural festival to celebrate the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival in Hengyang city, Central China’s Hunan province, June 13, 2015. The zongzi is 1.2 meters long and wide and 2 metes high, attracting many residents to take a taste. The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. For thousands of years, the festival has been marked by eating zongzi and racing dragon boats. The types of zongzi eaten in China are as varied as the many regional cuisines, with different shapes and fillings, although they are almost always made of sticky or glutinous rice.
