Wooden rooms encircle the Sertar Larong Wuming Buddhist Institute in Garze Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Southwest China’s Sichuan province. Thousands of monks and nuns live in the red wooden rooms that are built on nearby mountains while they study at the institute, which is located at an altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level.
