A view of Xitang ancient town in Jiashan county, East China’s Zhejiang province. As early as the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Periods (770-221B.C.), Xitang was a place of strategic importance on the boundary between the Wu and Yue States. The town boasts old bridges, narrow lanes, canopy corridors, and clusters of traditional architecture. It received more than 6.53 million tourists in 2014, and visitors are starting to arrive now before the upcoming holiday from May 1 to 3. (Photo: China News Service/Wang Dongming)
