Workers in their small shelter after a day’s work at a scenic area in Pingjiang, Central China’s Hunan province. The photos taken on April 9 and 10 show a 21-person construction team building pathways at a scenic area in Pingjiang in the province. With no ropes or safety harnesses, and only hard hats to protect them if they fall, these men spend their days hauling heavy planks and wheelbarrows full of cement over a rickety wooden walkway. The pathway under construction is about 1 km long and located at an average altitude of 400 meters. (Photo: China News Service/ Yang Huafeng)
