Photo taken on April 1, 2013 shows a polluted stream which has turned white in Dongchuan district of Kunming city, Yunnan province. On the benchland was white sludge, giving out odor of chemical reagent. A vegetable field nearby was covered by ashy soils. Locals began calling the river "milk river" after pollutants from a nearby underdrainage turned the water white.(CNS/Ren Dong)
