A stampede accident took place at 6:15 a.m. on February 27 in Xueji County of Xiangyang, Central China's Hubei Province. After the incident, 11 students were rushed to a local hospital, where four of them were confirmed to be deceased. The stampede accident was attributed to dereliction of duty and eight officials have been removed from their posts, according to the city government.
