Chinese cities enveloped in haze (1/6)

The CCTV Headquarters Building, a 44-storey skyscraper, is cloaked with haze in the Central Business District in Beijing, January 10, 2013. The Central Meteorological Observatory issued a blue alert for heavy fog on Thursday evening. It predicted that dense fog would hit many provinces from Thursday evening to Friday morning, including Hebei, Shandong, Zhejiang, Hubei and Sichuan, reducing visibility to less than 1,000 meters.
