Why is the U.S. government targeting Chinese sunflower seeds and dumplings?

(ECNS) -- On July 31, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security added 43 more Chinese companies to its entity list under the so-called Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA).

"When even sunflower seeds and dumplings are labeled as a ‘threat,’ it exposes the absurdity of the U.S. move," Josef Gregory Mahoney, professor of politics and international relations at East China Normal University, said in the latest News Lounge with China News Network.
