A light show was held at Dona Lindu Park in Recife, Brazil, to welcome the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year on Saturday night.

In the light show, twelve mascots of the Chinese Zodiac gave the audience New Year's greetings in turn, and 24 solar terms and traditions were also displayed.

2024 is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil, and the light show featured a special display of the 50th anniversary logo jointly designed by China and Brazil.

Recife established Chinese New Year as an official holiday in 2022, making it the first city in Brazil to establish Chinese New Year as an official holiday.
