The P4 central tower of the Hanjiang River Bridge in the Hubei section of the Xi'an-Shiyan high-speed railway was successfully capped on Sunday, marking the first tower of the largest span beam truss composite structure cable-stayed bridge in China.
The Xi'an-Shiyan high-speed railway starts from Xi'an in Shaanxi Province, traverses the Qinling Mountains, passes Shangluo City, and ends in Shiyan, Hubei Province. The Hubei section consists of Yunxi and Shiyan East stations, with a total length of 255.76 kilometers, including 86.36 kilometers in Hubei Province and 169.4 kilometers in Shaanxi Province, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
The proportion of bridges and tunnels in the Hubei section of the Xi'an-Shiyan high-speed railway is 98.85 percent. The Hanjiang River basin, several drinking water protected areas, and Yunyang National Geopark are involved along the route, which puts forward high requirements for construction in terms of environmental protection and water protection.
After the completion of the Xi'an-Shiyan high-speed railway, it will form a convenient high-speed rail link between Xi'an and Wuhan, which is of great significance to strengthen the connection between the Guanzhong urban agglomeration and the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.
