Mooncake producers strive to meet demand ahead of Mid-Autumn Festival

Mooncake producers in Shanghai were spotted sparing no effort to expand their production ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese lunar calendar, or September 29 this year. 　

Cheng Xuejiang, general manager of Shanghai Senwei Food Co., Ltd., said his company began preparing mooncakes production since May. While Sheng Linkun, general manager of Donglin Food Co., Ltd., said the peak production of his company could reach 100,000 to 150,000 mooncakes per day. 　

As the Mid-Autumn Festival is nearing, mooncakes are in high demand.
