From farmland to stage of world champion: a fairy tale of 'Mother Dragon Boat Team'

A women's dragon boat team from Shatian Town, Dongguan, south China's Guangdong Province, was training on the river.

The Dragon Boat Team consists of 24 members, the oldest being 59 and the youngest being 31. In order to prepare for a dragon boat competition, they have been training on the river for over a month, with a daily training time of up to 6 hours. 　

The name of this dragon boat team is "Mother Dragon Boat Team", because all of members have a same identity "Mother". 　

Feng Lijuan, 52, is now a cleaner and a farmer when she was young. This year is her 26th　year of dragon boat rowing. At that day, she scheduled her work to be completed before afternoon, and she can　devoted herself wholeheartedly to the dragon boat competition training　on the afternoon. 　

Feng Lijuan said that she persisted for 26 years because of the honor at the bottom of her heart. 　

With the approaching of Dragon Boat Festival, mothers finally represented their heroism in the competition. It is reported that they lived up to expectations and won the championship again.
