China launches Shijian-23 satellite into space

A new satellite, Shijian-23, was sent into space from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in south China's Hainan Province on Monday.

Shijian-23, mainly used for scientific experiments and technical verification, was launched abroad a modified version of the Long March-7 carrier rocket and entered planned orbits.

The launch was the 459th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
