(ECNS) -- Tiger Ying, a looted Chinese bronze vessel, is on display at the National Museum of China in Beijing.

The relic dates back to the Western Zhou period (1046 BC-771 BC).

It was taken as war booty by British military officer Harry Evans from the Old Summer Palace in 1860, and auctioned in April 2018 by Britain's Canterbury Auction Galleries.

The vessel was collected by the National Museum of China in December last year.

The special event will include a detailed and panoramic display of the vessel and its history.

The exhibition is expected to last for a month.
