Universal Beijing Resort will reopen at 75 percent capacity on June 15. All tourists entering Universal Resort need to provide a valid negative proof of nucleic acid test done within 72 hours, the resort announced on Tuesday.

The Universal theme park will officially open on June 15, while Universal Studios Grand Hotel, NUO Resort Hotel and Universal CityWalk Beijing are scheduled to open to guests on June 14, the resort detailed on its official WeChat account.

Number of visitors to the official flagship store of Universal Beijing Resort on Tuesday jumped 19 times from the previous day on Feizhu, Alibaba Group's online travel booking platform, according to media reports.

Universal is among the major tourism spots to resume operation in Beijing, after the city on Monday announced the return of "group tours" in Beijing starting Monday.

Those participating in group tours should have received a full course of COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, all scenic spots and parks in the city should adhere to the 75 percent flow limit, officials said at a press conference on Monday.

After the news was released, the traffic volume of Beijing tourism products on online travel booking platform Trip almost immediately doubled. Many are predicting that over the next week, the heat of Beijing's tourism market may exceed the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holidays from June 3 to 5.

According to Trip, total tourism orders in Beijing from Monday to Sunday rose 14 percent from the previous week. Among them, ticket bookings for Beijing's scenic spots saw the fastest increase of more than 90 percent. Bookings for group tour products in Beijing rose 11 percent from the previous week.

The capital city also resumed dine-in service on Monday. And visitor flows in major shopping malls skyrocketed from a week ago. Joy City in Beijing's Chaoyang district, for example, was the busiest shopping mall across the entire country on Monday, big data revealed. China World Mall in Beijing's CBD area saw its visitor flow skyrocket by 394.37 percent on a weekly basis, according to Beijing Daily.

Universal Resort said that it will be open to the public in strict accordance with the epidemic prevention and control policies, with a daily flow restriction of 75 percent. Indoor attractions and entertainment programs at Beijing Universal theme park will also be managed according to government regulations.

Ticket purchase for Themed Lands and booking for hotels will be open from Saturday - June 11.
