Invictus Gaming, a Chinese esports club which won the League of Legends World Championship in 2018, is entering the global stage again by winning the spring season final 3-0 against JDG on Sunday.

The team will compete with champions from 12 other regions across the world at the Mid-season Invitational (MSI) in China's Taipei in May.

The score of the final was one-sided but the third match was very thrilling, in which the two teams secured more than 40 kills in just 30 minutes.

The "black eight" JDG failed to "slay the dragon" and make it to the world stage. But the team's mid-laner Zeng "Yagao" Qi proved himself worthy, saving the team several times with calm, precise and brave actions facing multiple IG members alone.

The MVP of the match, Kang "TheShy" Seung-lok from South Korea, pushed his performance to the edge, cutting exactly into the weakness of JDG and leading his team to victory.

IG's fate in MSI is hard to foresee. The South Korean champion SKT is the biggest legend in video game history. European team G2 terminated last year's Chinese champion RNG in 2018 world finals. The Flash Wolves from China's Taiwan region is known to be a kingslayer.

But IG has its advantage. Due to a good performance at last year's MSI, IG can skip the first two rounds and enter the knockout stage directly in MSI 2019.

CGTN Digital will continue to bring you the latest news about the performance of Chinese esports clubs.
