M5.5 earthquake hits China's Xinjiang

A 5.5-magnitude earthquake hit Kashgar, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at a depth of eight kilometers on Tuesday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The quake took place at 5:52 a.m. local time.

There is no immediate report of casualties or damage.
