Resistance war against Japanese aggression marks China's first complete victory against foreign aggression: Xi

President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday that the resistance war against Japanese aggression, an arduous and great war, marks China's first complete victory against foreign aggression in modern times.

The victory in the war was achieved under a national united front against Japanese aggression advocated by the Communist Party of China (CPC), said Xi, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, while addressing a gathering to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. ■
