The local government of Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region said the notorious anti-China Adrian Zenz has made "blatant lies" after Zenz expressed new "concern" over the policies and measures taken by the Chinese government in the region since 2014. The relevant parties will take a legal action against the pseudo-scholar, said the local government.

The situation in Xinjiang is not at all what Zenz portrayed, said Xu Guixiang, the spokesperson of the Xinjiang regional government, told a press conference on Tuesday.

"In the past, violent and terrorist activities were frequent in Xinjiang, seriously trampling on the basic human rights of people of all ethnic groups, including their life, health and safety," Xu said.

Xinjiang has been able to avoid violent and terrorist incidents for five consecutive years through resolute anti-terrorism and de-radicalization efforts. The actual conditions of social stability and economic development in Xinjiang have strongly proved the legitimacy, necessity, and correctness of the policies and measures adopted in the region. The international community has clearly seen this, and the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang also support the measures taken by the government, said Xu.

"However, some people like Zenz ignored the facts in Xinjiang and talked nonsense with his eyes open," said Xu.

Zenz has spread a lot of lies and fallacies in the international community, which goes against the facts and the wishes of people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, as well as the views of many visionary people from the international community who have visited the region, said the spokesperson.

Zenz has acted as a spokesman, tool and puppet of the anti-China forces in the West for his own ulterior political purposes, Xu said.

Xu warned people like Zenz not to slander and deceive the public under the guise of academics.
