U.S. President Donald Trump declared on Friday to maintain a long-standing economic restriction on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), including the freezing of any assets in the U.S..

Harsh economic restrictions will continue for one year under the order Trump signed Friday.

Trump cited an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to U.S. national security despite the just-finished historic summit with DPRK leader Kim Jong Un this month with both sides agreeing to peacefully denuclearize the Korean Peninsula.
