A book on Xi Jinping's journalistic thought has been published by the People's Publishing House and the Xuexi Publishing House, the publishers said Thursday.

The book, which was compiled by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, is available at Xinhua Bookstore outlets across the country.

Xi's journalistic thought is an important part of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Xi, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, has since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012 raised a series of insightful new viewpoints, judgements and requirements to strengthen and improve the Party's publicity work, and come up with answers to a string of fundamental, strategic and overall issues concerning the long-term development of the Party's publicity work.

Xi also profoundly expounded the historical orientation, responsibilities and missions, and guidelines and principles of the Party's publicity work.

Being consistent with the journalistic thought of the Party, Xi's journalistic thought advances with the times and enriches and develops Marxist journalism theory.

The thought is a scientific guide and fundamental principle for the Party to do journalism well in the new era.

The book offers a thorough and in-depth explanation of Xi's journalistic thought and is highly instructive for journalists.
