China will impose anti-dumping tariffs on imports of hydroiodic acid from the United States and Japan, the Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.
The tariffs will kick in on October 16, 2018, with levies set at 123.4 percent on US suppliers and 41.1 percent on Japanese for the next five years.
China's Ministry of Commerce announced the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation on October 16, 2017, and adopted a provisional anti-dumping measure via deposit since June 23, 2018.
Hydroiodic acid is a strong, highly corrosive acid and a commonly used reducing reagent. It is often used to disinfect and sanitize medical tools and products.
