Major changes have been made in industries planning of Beijing's urban and sub-center areas, according to the city’s newly issued Catalogue for the Prohibition and Restriction of Newly Increased Industries (2018 Edition) on Wednesday.
Both Xicheng District and Dongcheng District prohibit the construction of residential projects in real estate development, forbidding the building of large-scale public projects such as hotels and office buildings. And the whole city will forbid to set up centralized office areas for leasing business, according to the catalogue.
Compared with the 2015 edition, the new edition has made 73 amendments to improve the quality, function and services of urban life.
Besides, the new catalogue shows support for high-end manufacturing that shores up industry segmentation. For example, it sets no restrictions for industries related to new energy vehicles and components. Industrial robot manufacturing is not prohibited either.
Moreover, new material products supporting aerospace, military and national major special projects are not prohibited or restricted, according to the catalogue. Qualified national high-tech enterprises or Zhongguancunhigh-tech enterprises are also encouraged to apply for related qualifications to construct.
