(ECNS) -- Chinese maritime authorities on Monday have deployed the largest-scale law enforcement force in northern China this year to escort the opening of fishing season in the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea.
Three large and 178 medium-and-small patrol ships, two maritime helicopters, 29 unmanned aerial vehicles, and 283 law enforcement personnel have been dispatched from Tianjin Municipality, Liaoning, Hebei and Shandong provinces to patrol on key waters in the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea where commercial fishing vessels converge, identify and eliminate collision risks promptly, and stop illegal activities.
Roll calls for commercial fishing vessels, warning and safety information broadcast, and temporary traffic controls have been conducted to ensure the orderly navigation of these vessels.
Tianjin Maritime Safety Administration has dispatched five maritime patrol ships, three unmanned aerial vehicles and 87 law enforcement personnel to carry out patrol and law enforcement, including maritime, aerial and electronic patrols, in areas with dense commercial fishing vessel traffic and operations.
The operation tracks, detects, investigates, punishes, and corrects water traffic violations, identifies and addresses potential ship collision hazards, and maintains smooth water traffic order.
