Tianzhou-8 cargo craft re-enters atmosphere

(ECNS) -- China's Tianzhou-8 cargo craft has re-entered the atmosphere at 6:42 a.m. (Beijing Time) Tuesday morning, according to the China Manned Space Engineering Office.

Most of the spacecraft's components burned up during the re-entry, and a small amount of its debris fell into the scheduled safe waters.

Tasked with resupplying propellants to the Chinese space station and delivering living and work necessities for the Shenzhou XIX and Shenzhou XX crews, the spaceship was launched in November 2024 from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in South China's Hainan Province.
