(ECNS)--US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's reckless visit to China's Taiwan region, in disregard of China's strong opposition, violated the one-China principle universally recognized by the international community, posing brazen provocation to China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In recent years, the US, with its double-dealing, has kept fudging and hollowing out the one-China principle. The US Congress keeps making toxic rhetoric on Taiwan and proposed and adopted negative bills regarding Taiwan. These have seriously undermined the political foundation of China-US relations.

If we look back at each provocation the US has made against China, we can see that they have invariably disgraced and backfired on the US itself. This visit by Pelosi to Taiwan is no exception. (by John Lee)
