Jinan opens intercontinental flight route to Frankfurt

(ECNS) -- A direct flight from Frankfurt, Germany landed at the Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport in Jinan, capital of Shandong Province, on Wednesday, marking the official opening of Frankfurt-Jinan regular intercontinental flight route.

There will be one flight every week until November since Wednesday.

The Jinan frontier inspection station will further coordinate to serve economic development and to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic import after the launch of the new airline, said Wang Yongchao, deputy chief of the station.

The new route will speed up the exchanges in terms of economy, trade and culture between Shandong and German cities and attract more foreign investment for Shandong.

It is expected to help Shandong establish a new highland for opening to the outside world and inject new impetus into the province's high-quality development.
