Fun, passion abound for Gu Ailing at Winter Olympic Games

(ECNS) -- Chinese freestyle skier Gu Ailing said fun and passion are what she experienced most at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

Gu made the comment in response to journalists after claiming silver in the women's freeski slopestyle at Genting Snow Park on Tuesday.

"I go into every contest, aiming to win, but never expecting to. So, every time I compete, I'm here to win and I'm here to do my best," Gu answered when asked whether she had exceeded her expectations at Beijing 2022.

"I'm here to have fun," she added.

As for her feeling ahead of the women's freeski halfpipe, Gu hopes she "can put on a good show" for her grandma because she's going to watch her compete in the halfpipe event.

"I love halfpipe, it's so much fun for me. So yeah, feeling good about it," Gu added.

Gu aims to achieve the trifeca in the upcoming women's freeski halfpipe scheduled for Thursday.
