(ECNS) -- A 110kV power transmission project of China's first tide-light complementary photovoltaic power station in Wenling, Taizhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, was put into operation Wednesday.

Based on the first bidirectional tidal power station in China, the Jiangxia Tidal Power Station project has a photovoltaic area of about 133.3 hectares built along a river, forming coordinated tidal and photovoltaic power generation modes.

After completion, it is expected to generate 1,092 hours of power annually within its 20 years of operation, and its annual power generation will exceed 100 million kWh.

Compared to a thermal power plant with the same gross generation of electricity, it can save about 31,654 tons of standard coal and reduce the emission of carbon dioxide by 84,479 tons a year.
