(ECNS) - The Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games has kicked off a campaign to select producers for the first batch of official licensed products.

Products will include six categories – badges, key chains and other non-precious metal products, clothes and accessories, silk works, articles of precious metal, stationery and ceramic products.

The organizing committee is looking for five producers to make items in precious metal and two to three producers for products of each of the other five categories.

To apply, companies need to meet a series of strict requirements including a sound financial and credibility standing, a registered capital of 20 million yuan ($3.13 million), and an accredited quality and environment management system in addition to strengths in product design, development and marketing.

Companies need to submit their applications before May 30 with a judging committee responsible for selecting the eventual winners.

The organizing committee said the licensing program is designed to spread the Olympics spirit, embody the Beijing 2022 Games and promote the Olympics brand and traditional Chinese culture as well as the host cities’ message on the world stage.

In addition to an online store, China currently has 16 franchise outlets in several cities selected to sell more than 200 types of franchised merchandise and souvenirs that feature the Olympic mark and the emblem of the Games.
