Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin saw their annual average salary exceeded 100,000 yuan ($14,500) in non-private sectors last year, the highest in China, according to a Sunday report by Economic View.

Urban employees' average salary in non-private sectors stood at 82,461 yuan in 2018, a nominal increase of 11 percent from a year earlier, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed.

In private sectors, the figure reached 49,575 yuan, an 8.3 percent nominal growth year-on-year.

Beijing topped the lists both in non-private sectors and private sectors, with salaries registered at 145,766 yuan and 76,908 yuan, respectively.

The solid performance of the economy and improved minimum wage standards contributed to the rise in salaries, according to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics.

Higher annual average salary was offered by the non-private sectors than the private sectors, the report said, since the latter had more micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, which were at the end of the industrial chain and more easily affected by economic fluctuations, and the non-private sectors provided better social security included in the salary before taxes.
