A fugitive suspected of taking bribes returned on Sunday to China to surrender to the authorities.
Pei Zhanrong, a former official from the Human Resources and Social Security Department of Jilin Province, fled the country in March 2017 after being suspected of taking bribes.
An investigation was launched by the local procuratorial authorities in June the same year.
