Yunnan village benefits from cactus industry

 

Zhuangzitian Village in Yunnan Province developed a 15-million-yuan cactus industry.

It restored barren land and lifted per capita income to 32,000 yuan in 2025, a 2.2-fold rise from 2022.

Vegetation coverage grew from 32% to 75%. The village exported 20 metric tons of edible cactus pads to Vietnam in 2025
