(ECNS) -- The Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival, an annual flagship event organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), will be held from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1 under the theme "Taste the World's Best," the HKTB said Wednesday.
The festival will take place at the Central Harbourfront Event Space and Tamar Park in Admiralty. It will be followed by Hong Kong Gourmet Month in November, with a range of dining offers and experiences designed to attract visitors from Hong Kong and overseas.
This year's festival will be more than 10% larger than last year's, featuring more than 340 booths with wines and food from about 31 countries and regions. Pavilions from Australia, Canada and South Korea will make their debut.
Visitors will be able to sample a range of rare wines, including legendary Bordeaux vintages, as well as selections from Burgundy, Spain, Italy and Chile.
On the food side, 26 star-rated hotels will showcase signature dishes created exclusively for the festival. The Tasting Room will host a 'Taste of Time' banquet featuring renowned chefs from Hong Kong and overseas.
Peter Lam, chairman of the HKTB, said visitors would be able to sample fine wines and cuisine from around the world in one place while experiencing distinctive Hong Kong flavors.
He said the HKTB hoped to create a diverse range of experiences to encourage visitors to stay longer, boost spending and generate more business opportunities for the tourism and related industries.
