PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gasfield achieves major output milestone

 

(ECNS) -- PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gasfield Company has surpassed 30 million metric tons of oil and gas equivalent output in 2026, reaching the milestone on Monday and setting a record for the same period in the company's history.

Several key projects have delivered strong results this year, with new wells in the Gaoshiti and Dengying formations recording open-flow capacities exceeding 1 million cubic meters per day.

The company has also revitalized aging fields through enhanced recovery measures. Well Moxi 022-X11, once considered nearly depleted, returned to production after overhaul and acidizing treatment, producing more than 350,000 cubic meters of gas per day.

Shale gas development has remained another major focus. An ultra-deep shale gas pilot project in the Wujiaping Formation shortened average drilling time by 32.5%, while setting a new record for ultra-deep fracturing operations.

Company officials said full-year oil and gas equivalent output is expected to reach another record high.
