(ECNS) -- The 8th Malaysia-China Trade Expo (MCTE 2026) opened at the World Trade Center Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, bringing together about 100 Chinese companies and nearly 50 Malaysian companies.
The three-day expo covers nearly 9,000 square meters, featuring traditional manufacturing as well as emerging sectors.
For the first time, organizers set up a dedicated pet industry zone, held in conjunction with the inaugural Malaysia Pet Expo.
It also features a cross-border e-commerce matchmaking session and a forum on AI-driven growth in Southeast Asia’s cross-border e-commerce sector.
Since its launch in 2017, the expo has evolved from a product showcase into a platform for business matchmaking, organizers said.
Haji Irmohizam Ibrahim, board director of the World Trade Center Association, noted that the 2025 expo connected companies with more than 3,000 potential customers and secured orders worth over 10 million ringgit ($2.5 million), with more than 90 percent of exhibitors reporting tangible results.
Organizers said they will continue to follow up on business matchmaking results and support Chinese companies in expanding their presence in ASEAN markets.
