China firmly opposes U.S. sanctions on companies, individuals over alleged Iran-related issues: MOC

(ECNS) -- China strongly deplores and firmly opposes the repeated U.S. sanctions on Chinese companies and individuals over alleged Iran-related issues, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said on Thursday.

U.S. unilateral sanctions improperly interfere in normal economic and trade exchanges between relevant countries and severely disrupt global energy security and stable supply chains, spokesperson Huang Ling said at a regular press briefing.

China urges the U.S. to immediately correct its wrongful practices and revoke the sanctions against the Chinese companies and individuals concerned, the spokesperson said, adding that China will firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its companies and citizens.
