(ECNS) -- China has extended 240hour transit visafree and 30day Hainan visafree entry to citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam starting Thursday, the National Immigration Administration said.
With these additions, the number of countries covered by China’s 240-hour transit visa-free policy rise to 57, while the 30-day visa-free entry policy for south China’s Hainan Province cover citizens of 61 countries.
Kyrgyz and Vietnamese citizens with ordinary passports and confirmed onward tickets may enter through 65 designated ports, including Beijing and Shanghai, and stay up to 240 hours in approved areas. They may also enter Hainan visa-free and remain within the province for up to 30 days.
Travelers entering China under the two visa-free policies may engage in short-term activities such as tourism, business, visiting relatives and friends. Those coming to China for purposes requiring prior approval, including employment, study and news reporting, must obtain the appropriate visas before entering the country.
