(ECNS)-- Chinese and Kyrgyz archaeologists have completed their first joint field season at the Shurabashat Ancient City Ruins in southern Kyrgyzstan, mapping a walled settlement complex that may date back more than 2,000 years.
Covering 1.3 square kilometers, the site includes several east-west-aligned city sites with walls, gates and corner towers.
Surveys uncovered remains of high platform buildings and cultural deposits showing long-term human activity.
