(W.E. Talk) Beate Trankmann: Many of the challenges we face today cannot be solved in isolation

Dear colleagues, friends, and viewers of W.E. Talk,

I am pleased to congratulate W.E. Talk on its5th anniversary. Over the past5 years, the program has built an effective platform for constructive dialogue, contributing to greater understanding across different cultures and traditions. UNDP has been pleased to engage with W.E. Talk through interviews and exchanges to showcase our work in international development and multilateral cooperation. These conversations help connect policy debates and strengthen broader public understanding.

From my experience, working in diverse cultural contexts, dialogue is not optional. It is essential. Many of the challenges we face today, including those addressed under the2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development are shared across countries and cannot be solved in isolation. Progress depends on cooperation, knowledge-sharing and mutual trust. UNDP looks forward to continued engagement with China News Service in supporting cross-cultural dialogue and cooperation, and in advancing practical and innovative solutions to global challenges.
