Chinese speed skater Gao Tingyu sets new record at Harbin Asian Winter Games

(ECNS) -- Chinese speed skater Gao Tingyu on Saturday clinched the men's 100-meter gold medal with 9.35 seconds at the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, setting a new Asian record.

Gao said that he had anticipated to do better than 9.35 seconds in the speed skating competition.

“I took this competition as a training session and aimed to deliver a better performance,” he remarked.
