(ECNS) -- China's Ministry of Commerce called on the U.S. to cancel all tariffs it had imposed amid current inflation woes and challenging global economic recovery to pull bilateral economic and trade ties back to normal as soon as possible.
Shu Jueting, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of Commerce made the remarks at a press conference on Thursday.
She said the ministry has noticed that the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced on Wednesday to renew tariff waivers for 352 Chinese items, which will contribute to normal trade of related products between the two sides.
China believes that the U.S.' unilateral tariffs on Chinese imports are not conducive to both sides and even to the world, said Shu.
The spokesperson also called on the U.S. to consider the interests of consumers and producers of both countries.
